Peter James Butler hailing from Dublin moved to sligo 8 years ago to set up a new band which turned out to be The Katonahs.
He is recognised by audiences as a vibrant and engaging performer. This natural ability has been built on his time fronting rock bands and theatre acting around the country. Peter has developed a large repertoire of original songs and is continually adding fresh material drawing influences from 60s and 70's rock and roll, right through to popular current Indie.
"I am looking forward to a successfull 2016 with The Torches."
John O'Dea from Roscommon has played keyboards in a number of bands in the northwest of Ireland. Although his music tastes are ecletic rock and roll remains his main influence. John's enthusiasm for the keys allows him to find the perfect blend of colour and mood essential to completing the band's dynamic sound.
"If music be the food of love... rock on"
Peter James Hamilton originally from County Tyrone is a versatile drummer and percussionist. Peter loves heavy rock and listens to wide variety of music styles.
"I believe in the brotherhood of music, I enjoy playing to the crowd, it really turns me on seeing everyone up dancing and having a good time..."
Bassist Dave Rooney from Sligo joined the band last year. Dave has a wealth of experience from playing in bands around the north west over the last few years. Dave's catchy and rhythmic bass lines gives the songs melody rhythm and a distinctive original sound.
